REGIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

    BIA carries out its regional policy with the active partnership of 133 regional organizations, business associations and local bodies.
    Twenty six of them have the status of district industrial chambers and associations, corresponding to the administrative division of the country. The process of their establishment as volunteer economic unions started in 1982 and was the result of the objective need to create structures on local and regional level incorporating the common interests in support and promotion of the business initiative of the economic subjects.
    Other 10 associations of the business are set up outside of the district centres, such as: Ardino, Botevgrad, Dupnitsa, Kirkovo, Krumovgrad, Momchilgrad, Panagyurishte, Petrich, Svishtov and Svilengrad.
    After 1995 started a process of creation of business organizations and local bodies at a municipal level, which are direct members of BIA, thus have been developed a network of new 95 representatives of BIA and some of them are prepared to be established as business associations.
    BIA disposes of a unique organizational structure for the country – local bodies, representing the interests of BIA and participating in the elaboration of the economic and social policy on municipal level. BIA local bodies participate in the work of the local councils for regional development, Social Dialogue on tripartite principle, employment, occupational conditions and etc.
    BIA and the regional industrial organizations participate jointly in many international projects and events organized with the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization of Employers (IOE) and other international partners, under projects and programmes for partnership with EU.
    BIA in partnership with the regional organizations carries out projects jointly with:

ILO and IOE – projects for the setting up of regional contribution payment centres and occupational health services;
BUSINESSEUROPE – The Confederation of the European Business – joint forums on the problems for the development of the employers’ organizations, and etc., related with the issues and forms of lobbying and attracting new members;
The Office for Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX) – international meetings on issues related with the utilizing of the structural funds extended to Bulgaria;
Saxon Academy of Management – projects for the building up and consolidation of the administrative capacity, establishment and maintenance of connections with the mass media, collective bargaining, Lisbon Strategy, European social dialogue, financial participation of the employees in the enterprise, and etc.
Handwerkskammer Koblenz (the Koblenz Krafts Chamber) in Germany – projects for the setting up and development of the artisan and craftsmanship movement in Bulgaria, including the establishment of the regional craft chambers.
