Industrial Development Centre
In the core competence of the Industrial Development Centre at BIA are legislation; discussion and rectification of the legislative initiatives, revised by the parliamentary commissions and working groups, regarding the following topics: industrial policy, competitiveness, stimulation of investments, financing, public procurements.

The Industrial Development Centre at BIA, prepares analysis and macroeconomic researches for the condition of country’s economy, economy’s branches and spheres, as well as for exact macroeconomic problems. This activity has established BIA, as one of the leading centres for macroeconomic researches and analyses in the country. Among the fundamental developments and analyses of the Centre can be mentioned the following:
- Annual researches for the liabilities of the enterprises from the non-financial sector in Bulgaria and the in - company leverage;
- BIA’s business index the business climate;
- Evaluation of the Bulgarian economy’s competitiveness, and etc.

The Centre organizes seminar forms of education, including training of lecturers in the areas of industrial politics; preferences for employers, when tenancy of work force; energy efficiency; tax legislation; public procurements and offset schemes; financing sources; international standards and financial report, etc.

The research work of BIA helps in:
- Evaluation of the business environment and development of opinions, proposal and positions for the country’s economy and the economic politics;
- The relations with state institutions; international financial and representative non-governmental organizations
- Withstanding the business’s and industry’s interests, through mediation in the relations with the government, syndicates, and society.
- Improvement and change in the regulation of monopoly services
Some of the materials, developed by the Centre include:
- Analysis of the regulatory regimes in Bulgaria;
- Analysis of the Bulgarian exports;
- Analytical research of the structural development of the employment in Bulgaria with examination of the inter-branch connections and Input – Output analysis;
- Inspection of the conditions and the resources needed for achievement of safely and healthy working conditions, corresponding to the EU requirements;
- Analysis of the Bulgarian atom energy’s future;
- Preliminary (ex-ante) evaluation of plans and programmes;
- Guidance for energy management in small and medium-sized enterprises and implementation of environment management systems.
Among the partners and clients of the Centre are state institutions and agencies, companies from different branches and sectors of the economy.
