THE BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
BOJIDAR DANEV – Chairman and Executive President of BIA
Bojidar Danev was born on 5 November 1939 in Sofia. He graduated with honours from the Technical University in Sofia in 1965. His carrier started in the Institute of Cybernetics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). There he received the “Best Scientific Elaboration” award of BAS and the National “Scientific elaboration of biggest economic impact” award; he defended a thesis in the field of management of social and economic systems and attained an academic rank of a senior research associate. He conducted a postdoctoral thesis for two years on management of systems in the University of Hanover, Germany. He has read lectures in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, USA, United Kingdom and other countries.
When returning to Bulgaria in 1980 Bojidar Danev started working at the Bulgarian Industrial Economic Association (BIEA, today called BIA), as an expert in the Economic Analysis Department. Consecutively he occupied the positions of a senior expert, head of department, director.
He was appointed a Vice Chairman on financial issues of the Central Cooperative Union in 1987. In this system, he implemented the politics of SMEs setting up, reformed the currency practice, and introduced market principles for the management of independent units.
Bojidar Danev joined BIEA again as a Vice President in 1989, where he supervised the departments of Economic analysis, Privatization and investments, Industrial growth. He participated in the development and adoption of a normative base on privatization, and in the preparation and realisation of the privatization of a large number of enterprises and commercial sites.
Bojidar Danev was a Manager of the Sofia Stock Exchange in the period 1991 -1997.
He was elected a Chairman of BIA in 1993. He has enrolled in the expansion of the social dialogue in the country. He actively works in the sphere of legal labour ties, reforms in the pension acts, joint negotiations, and etc. He was a Vice President of the National Council of Tripartite Cooperation in 2004 and in 2006.
Bojidar Danev turned to be the main engine in the establishment of the EU - Bulgaria Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and became a co-Chairman from the Bulgarian side in the period 1999 – 2004.
In 2006 he was elected a Vice President of the Economic and Social Council of the Republic of Bulgaria and of the National Council of Tripartite Cooperation; became a Member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Head of the working group on the Lisbon Strategy with Bulgarian participation. He is also a Member of the high – level working group on the free movement of workers at EESC;
Bojidar Danev is a Member of the Management Committee of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Vice President of the New Bulgarian University’s Board.
He has been the Executive Director and Member of the Managing Board of the biggest leasing company in Bulgaria - Interlease AD since 1995, and a Member of the Managing Board of Solvay-Sodi AD, Industrial Holding Bulgaria, Doverie Insurance Company and others.
Bojidar Danev has over 150 scientific publications in domestic and international editions and three monographic publications.

GEORGI SHIVAROV – Vice President of BIA
Georgi Shivarov was born in 1952. He graduated in Saint Petersburg, Russia with major in computer technologies. Georgi Shivarov is an authority in the field of information systems, mathematical modelling and applications of mathematics in economic analysis. He worked in the National Centre of Cybernetics and Computer Technologies; in the Scientific and Information Centre, part of the Culture Committee and in the Institute for Social Control. He has been working at BIA since 1983 occupying consecutively the positions of a senior expert, Director of the Industrial Development Centre, Secretary General and elected a Vice President of the Association since 1993. He is also a Vice President of the Association of the Bulgarian Economist; Member of the Managing Board in the Bulgaria Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency; Chairman of the Executive Board of the Quality, Production and Management Centre; Member of the Management Board of the joint Bulgarian and Switzerland Association “FAEL”. He speaks English and Russian. Georgi Shivarov manages the spheres of technological renovation of the economy and the small and medium-sized enterprises at BIA. He is in charge of the international relations and the common activities of BIA, including joint programmes and projects with partner organizations from East Europe.

DIKRAN TEBEYAN – Vice President of BIA
Dikran Tebeyan was born in 1942 in the city of Jambol. He graduated in “Economics of Industry” at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia. He started his carrier in the Institute of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Foreign Trade. During 1974 – 1991 he was teaching in the faculty of “International Business Relations” at UNWE. Dikran Tebeyan has been working in BIA from 1997 and is a Vice President from 1999. He is a member of the National Social Security Institute’s Supervisory Board from 1996 and two mandates as its Chairman. He is a Member of the Economic and Social Council of the Republic of Bulgaria and of the National Council of Tripartite Cooperation. He is a member of the Monitoring Committee of the operational programme “Human Resources”. Dikran Tebeyan is an author of numerous publications in the sphere of the industrial relations, taxation and social security policies. He supervises the spheres of protection of the employer’s interests, taxation and social security policies at BIA.

KAMEN KOLEV – Vice President of BIA
Kamen Kolev was born on 19 March 1954. He graduated from the Technical University in Sofia in the specialty of technical system and has defended a candidate dissertation “Doctor of Financial Analysis”. He has specialized in USA, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland in the field of industrial analysis, public and private partnerships, public commissions, evaluation and financing of investment projects and others. He is a licensed appraiser of the American Association of Business Appraisers and is a Member of the Monitoring Committee of the SAPARD and ISPA programmes; of the operational programmes “Competitiveness”, “Regional Development” and “Administrative Capacity”. He participated in the development of the National Plan for Economic Development of Bulgaria in the period 2007-2013 and of the regional operational programmes in the period 2007 – 2013. He is an author of the books “Technological innovations” and “Public Procurement – Procedures and Practices”, also of a Manual of Energy Management. He has been working in BIA for 24 years, consecutively occupying the positions of a senior expert, Director and Director.General. Since 2005 he has been a Vice President of BIA and supervises the branches of Industrial Development, Investments and Economic Analysis. He speaks fluently English and Russian.

PETAR DENEV – Secretary General of BIA
Petar Denev was born on 20 July 1943. He graduated from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia, with a specialty “Engineer Metallurgist”. In 1991 he received a degree in the specialty of “Management of Science and Technical Development of Companies” from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. Petar Denev worked consecutively in the Non-ferrous Metals Works in Sofia as an engineer-technologist; in the State Committee for Scientific and Technical Progress as a senior specialist and director; and in the First Private Bank as an inspector. In BIA he has been a Secretary General since 1996. Petar Danev is a Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “Elresours” AD; Member of the Management Council of the National Health Insurance Fund and of the TU- 21 century” foundation. He is a Chairman of the Management Board of “Prophylaxis, Rehabilitation and Recreation” AD. Petar Danev has various publications and is a co-author of inventions. He speaks Russian and English. He is married with two children.

ANTON PETROV – Executive Director of "ÒåPro Metal" Plc., Regional deputy of «Viohalco Group», Chairman of Branch Chamber of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metallurgy
Anton Petrov was born on 13 august 1966. He graduated from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. Since 1999 he was an Executive Director of TePro Metal Plc. and Manager of Steelmet Ltd, Animet Plc., Lesko Ltd and AM Anton Petrov, a sole trader. He is a Member of the Managing Board of Stomana Industry S.A., Sofia Med Plc., Sigma IS Plc, TePro Style Ltd., Sid-Pack Plc, and Aiforos Ltd. Anton Petrov is a Member of the Management Board of Prosal Tubes Plc. and Steelmet Plc., also a Regional Deputy of Viohalko Group and a member of the Management Board and the Executive Board of BIA. Since 2007 he has been a Chairman of the Branch Chamber of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metallurgy. He is married with one child.
VALENTIN ZAHARIEV – Executive Director of Intertrust Plc.
Valentin Zahariev was born on 14 November 1949 in Sofia. He graduated from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia with a specialty “Metallurgy of Ferrous Metals”. In 1975 he started his carrier in Iron Casting Works in Ihtiman. From 1986 he was a Chief Designer in Mashproect. From 1989 Valentin Zahariev entered the private sector trading with metals. From 1999 to 2006 he was the Chairman of the Managing Board and Executive Director of Kremikovtzi. He is married with two sons. He speaks Russian and English.
VELICHKO ALEXANDROV – Chairman of the Management Board of ITA Holding, and of the Incorporated partnerships: Izgrev Plc, SMLK Plc and EON Plc
Velichko Alexandrov was born on 22 February 1947 in city of Jambol. He graduated from the Technical University in Sofia and specialized in Japan and Czechoslovakia in the sphere of new technologies and corporate management. For 20 years he worked in KZU – Sofia as a Head of Technical Department, Head of Site, and Head of group laboratories and Technical Director. Since 1991 Velichko Alexandrov has been a Chairman of the Managing Board of ITA – Hold Plc., Izgrev Inc Plc, SMLK Inc Plc and EOM Plc.; Executive Director of EFA Ltd., Rodafon Plc. and Infralink Plc.; Member of the Management Board of Encasing Technique Plc. and Bridge Oriahovo – Beket Plc. Velichko Alexandrov is a member of the Management Board and the Executive Board of BIA and of the Bulgarian – Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also of the Management Board of the Business Advisory Board of the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe. He is married with three kids. He speaks English, Russian, German and Greek.
LACHEZAR TZOTZORKOV – Managing Director of Asarel Medet Plc, and Chairman of the Managing Committee of Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology
Lachezar Tzotzorkov was born on 16 October 1945 in the city of Panagurishte. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Sofia with a specialty “Gig Transport Machines”; specialized marketing and management in Bulgaria, Austria and Japan; defended a doctoral thesis on “Basis of the Company’s Culture in Mining Enriching Complexes”. In 1971 he began his labour and production activity in the mechanical and repair guild of the mining enriching complexes Medet. Since 1979 has become a Director of Oborishte Factory (nowadays called Jana). Since 1986 Lachezar Tzotzorkov has been an Executive Director of Asarel – Medet Plc. In 1991 he became a Founder and Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology. He is member of the Managing Board and the Executive Board of BIA and the Scientific and Technical Union of Mining Works, Geology and Metallurgy. Since 1995 he has become a member of the International Organization Committee of the World Mining Conference; Bulgarian National Mining Committee; International Academy of Mineral Resources in Moscow; International Academy of Ecology and Safety Labour in St. Petersburg; International Foundation Karl Duisburg in Koln, Germany; a foreign member of the Russian Mining Academy in Moscow and member of the Rotary Club in Panagurishte. Lachezar Tzotzorkov is an author of the book “Base of Company’s Culture” and has many publications in scientific and technical editions. He has also licensed patent rationalizations. He has been a Chairman of the Management Board of the Industrial Cluster “Srednogorie – med” in the city of Pirdop since 2006. In 2005, he received the rank of an Honorary citizen of the Panagurishte Municipality and by a Presidential decree in 2006 he was awarded the highest state distinction – the “Stara Planina” medal – first degree”. He speaks Russian and English.
RADOSVET RADEV – Managing Director of “Darik Radio” Plc.
Radosvet Radev was born on 21 July 1960. He graduated from the Law Department of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and specialized marketing and management in USA. He worked consecutively in the Sofia Civil Court and in the “Hristo Botev” programme of the Bulgarian National Radio. In 1992 Radosvet Radev gave rise to “Darik radio” Plc, “Darik – offices and hotels” Plc. At present he is a Managing Director of “Darik radio” Plc, “Darik – offices and hotels” Plc and “Bul-mash” Plc. He is a Chairman of the Managing Board of “Geology and Physics” Plc., “Darik properties Bulgaria” Plc and “Doverie – Capital” Plc. Radosvet Radev is a member of the Managing Board of ‘Doverie-Briko” Plc and the Resort Complex Albena Plc. He is also a member of the Supervisory Committee of Medica Plc., Doverie-Joint holding Plc. and “Elit” Plc – Pavlikeni. In 1989 Radosvet Radev became one of the founders of the first unions for the private capital in Bulgaria and since 1991 has been a member of the Executive Board of BIA. He is married with two children.
SASHO DONCHEV–Chairman of the Managing Board and Managing Director of Overgas Inc Plc and Overgas Holding Plc.
Sasho Donchev was born on 7 September 1953. He graduated from the State Academy for Oil and Gas “I. M. Gubkin” in Moscow with a specialty “Construction of Interstate Gas pipelines” and from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia with a degree in “Foreign Trade Relations”. From 1978 to 1990 worked in “Gasstroymontage”, consecutively occupying the positions of a technical head, designer, head of department of “Transit Gas Pipe Russia –Turkey” and director of the Construction and assembly management in the building up of the interstate gas pipeline Tula –Moscow – Kiev. In 1991, together with few of his colleagues, he established Overgas Ltd. Sasho Donchev is one of the initiators and an author of the National programme for development of gas supply in Bulgaria, the Concept for development of gas supply in Bulgaria and the Project for gas supply in the urbanized places in the country. He has more than 20 research publications and engineering developments, published in Bulgaria, Russia, Germany, Austria, Syria, and Libya. Sasho Donchev is a member of the Academy for technical sciences of the Russian Federation and a holder of the honorary title “Honorary Member” and “Gold Sign” of the World Movement “Ecoforum and peace”. In 2004 he was awarded with the prestige prize “Atanas Burov” for industrial management; with the awards of the Bulgarian Forum of Business Leaders – first place for “Investor in Education” and third place for “Investor in Environment”. Also he has been awarded with the prize “IN-5” of BIA for contribution in the development of the Bulgarian economy.
PHILIP ROMBAUT – Managing Director of “Agropolychim” – Devnya
The Belgium financier Philip Rombaut was born on 16 March 1963 in the American city of Pittsburgh. He has been working in Bulgaria since 1997, when was invited by “Umicor” for a Managing Director of the Cooper mining plant in Pirdop. Since 2001 he has been a Head of the George Soros fund for Southeast Europe. At present Philip Rombaut is the Managing Director of the Devnya fertilizer plant “Agropolychim” – Varna and a Member of the Executive Board of BIA.
Stefan Szyszkowitz – Chairman of Managing Board and Authorised Representative of EVN - Bulgaria Ltd.
Stefan Szyszkowitz was born on 21 October 1964. He graduated Law in Vienna and Business Administration in the Chicago University. Till 2005 he was a Manager of the General Secretariat and Manager of the Communications department of EVN Plc. Since 2005 Stefan Shishkovic has been a Chairman of the Managing Board of EVN Bulgaria Plc. He is married with two children.
IVAN BOYKOV – Executive Director of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber
Ivan Boykov is a mechanical engineer, graduated from the Technical University in 1974. He has worked for “Energoproekt”, “Cement Plant” – Temelkovo, “Balkancar” AD, “ZIT Invest” AD. From 1997 to 2001 he was MP and member of the Commissions for industrial policy and environmental protection. From 2001 to 2003 he was Secretary General of the FIG “REI Holding” AD, and then became an Executive Director of the Bulgarian Branch Chamber “Patishta”. He is Deputy Chairman of the Governing Board of Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association. Boykov has written over 40 publications, articles and analyses in the field of the industrial policy, the problems of the branch (sector) organizations in Bulgaria, road building, designing and engineering.
