ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES

BIA defends the interests of its members:
  • Determining the economic policy in Bulgaria;
  • Developing and improving the regulatory base related to the economic activity; Developing and improving of the normative base in the sphere of social – economic policies;
  • Preparation of analyses, studies, and expertise assessments in the area of the industrial, tax and social policy, environmental protection, technical requirements to the products, development of the small and medium - sized enterprises, and etc.
BIA defends the interests of its members in the state councils, international and other organizations:
  • Participation in partnership bodies on national, branch, and regional level;
  • Membership in international organizations
  • Mediation for overcoming and settlement of disputes between commercial subjects, between trade unions and employers, problems with the state administration, etc.
  • The member branch organizations of BIA are side on 64 collective labour contracts and agreements for the minimal levels of labour recompense depending on personnel’s class.
BIA assists its members for the realization of their business activity by means of granting specific services:
  • Organizes business forums, meetings and business contacts between Bulgarian and international companies. Attracts investments in the country. BIA is co-organizer of the biggest annual economic forum in Bulgaria, where traditionally participate statesmen, governmental officials, politicians, economists of world renown, presidents of leading commercial companies, and etc.
  • Cooperates for the technical renewing and implementation of innovations in the production
  • Assists the informational interchange of the members through ensuring their participation in international exhibitions and fairs. Grants market information for creating strategies for competitiveness;
  • Mediates and surmounts through its Court of Arbitration the settlement of disputes between the commercial subjects and between the trade unions and employers;
  • Issuance of electronic certificates (digital certificates) and cryptographic keys for e-signing and/or encryption of e-mails and documents, guaranteeing a secured identification on the Internet;
  • Issues Certificates of Origin
  • Assistance for registration of intellectual property objects – patents, marks, industrial design, and provides support on infringements of the intellectual property rights;
  • Develops on-line systems and Internet pages
  • BIA publishes daily electronic bulletin in English and Bulgarian, called “Business Industry Capitals (BIA Daily)” with more than 20000 subscribers in the whole world; periodic electronic bulletin “Industry and Environment” and bulletin “International Economic Cooperation”
  • Assistance in the implementation of systems for control, including some of the ISO management system, taking the priority of achieving a correspondence with the requirements on the environment and etc.
  • Preparing documents needed for registration of commercial companies, for concluding trade deals, customs and licensing regimes, etc.
  • Accomplishes qualification and pre-qualification on a wide spectrum of nationally approved programmes and directions, including information technologies.
  • In BIA functions the first on Balkan Peninsula CCNP Academy for network training of Cisco Systems professionals. The attendants are trained for networking.
  • BIA supports the Information system of the Bulgarian enterprises BEIS (beis.bia-bg.com), which contains information in English and Bulgarian about more than 35000 active Bulgarian companies. The profile of each firm includes headquarters, sector, subject of activity, managing bodies, shareholders and participation in other associations, financial data and main financial indexes, stock quotes, press digest. The information is updated on a daily basis.
For executing the functions and objectives of BIA, as well as the fulfilment of all-round services, which the Association offers, 14 centres are set up. They are as follows:
